LCD not working on mid-2010 iMac 21.5"

in need of - i've been trying ssd drive swap done on mid-2010 imac 21.5", , have had machine apart several times during attempts ssd work. on thought going final try, inadvertently forgot reconnect v-sync cable on lcd controller board, , went power up, display remained dark. realized mistake , reconnected v-sync cable, subsequent attempts power machine met same result - sounds booting (i.e. apple boot sound plays, can hear fans spinning , such, etc), display remains dark. removed ssd , put original hdd in, extremely careful reconnecting of cables, no dice, display still remains dark on boot. did try shining bright led flashlight on lcd, see nothing @ on display, makes me think either lcd getting no power and/or no signal. first of all, having v-sync cable disconnected powering machine somehow fry lcd and/or controller board? next, know ribbon signal cable head lcd extremely fragile - though careful each time reinserted cable head connector on mobo, possible somehow damaged it, cause symptoms i'm seeing?

first imac, think same rules apply normal pc display - if lcd getting power, think you'd still backlight, no images on screen. signal alone not show on screen without power. i'm leaning towards needing controller board replacement, wanted check first see if there may else i'm missing here - perhaps fried lcd not reconnecting v-sync cable properly?

btw, machine worked fine until last attempt ssd - i'd had display in , out of unit several times prior this, , each time worked fine after reinstall. bonehead move on part forget reconnect v-sync cable last time. having struggles getting recognize ssd, hence multiple attempts/disassembly (the ssd swap issues thread, though).
