Mac Pro 2010 SSD upgrade, what all should I look for?


hi guys,

haven't kept hardware specs in years , want upgrade mac pro 2010 ssd. i'm not versed in ssd technology , looking recommendations.

i've read apparently need adapter adapt ssd drive sled goes tower.

know owc sells kit i've heard many bad stories ssds , saw don't support new mac os file system.

recommendations appreciated.
 

i use owc drive sled samsung 1tb 850 series drive. works , plenty fast. note bus "only" 3g bits/sec not using full bandwidth of drive itself.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
