Resolved CPU question, good or bad?


hi all,

first post, i've learned way info last few weeks.

received x5690 ebay seller, however, upon inspection, noted 1 of feet seems either discolored or chipped. seemed recall shouldn't affect performance, loved hear opinion if acceptable or should contact seller refund??

i contact seller , see if have more swap. doesn’t hurt , sets record there issue cpu (assuming wasn’t in description or item photo) in case have problem.

note socket “pins” long solid contact made won’t matter. have tried cleaning off?

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
