A couple of questions/concerns before purchasing an Apple Watch

i'm leaning toward purchase of first smart watch (after owning g-shock , couple of mechanical watch - current citizen watch included), fitness (esp. heart rate) tracking abilities. have couple of questions, though:

1a. heart rate: watch measure throughout day? or have turn on in order watch track whenever it's on wrist?

1b. since part of route work includes 10-15 min walk, watch detect 'activity'? or have open 'activity' app on each time?

2. considering watch's screen black, hot under sun in summer?

3a. 1 thing i'm disappointed apple doesn't implement 'always on' option. if add series 4, think available exclusively on 4th gen, or there possibility come software fix, available on watches supporting eg. watchos 5?

3b. think there's chance apple let users choose different types of clock hands in future? (i.e. pointed tip rather round tips offered).

1a. hr measured automatically, unless choose turn off. note hr measurement not continuous, unless select workout. watch takes readings every 5 10 minutes.

1b. if want track map , see continuous hr, select workout. if don’t, you’ll still move , excercise ring credit, won’t othe workout stuff map , speed.

2. no. never noticed problems.

3a. doubt they’ll ever implement on until battery tech or screen tech ready. if do, bet money latest gen have , older models won’t. in other words, it’s hardware problem, not software.

3b. think faces are. if don’t have hands like, think you’re sol.
