alpine electronics @ ces today unveiled new aftermarket carplay system "hover" design floats in front of vehicle's dashboard instead of being embedded directly it. company said ilx-f309 "doesn't require custom installation," professional still needed remove existing infotainment systems before installing ilx-f309.
alpine's receiver includes 9-inch touch screen , fit in "a variety of vehicles." 9-inch screen larger average 6-to-7-inch screen size of many other aftermarket carplay systems, , alpine pointed out hover design bring larger display vehicles restricted dashboards smaller form factors.
system uses 1-din chassis , adjustable mount give hover effect after installation. in announcement, alpine electronics described of installation mechanics of ilx-f309 , how users able adjust angle:
in addition carplay , android auto compatibility, new system am/fm receiver video support. system doesn't include cd or dvd slot, there usb port, aux input, , hdmi input. company mentioned has bluetooth technology audio streaming, doesn't appear include wi-fi or support wireless carplay connectivity, company's ilx-107.

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fin...
