Home What uses have you found for smart plugs?


i’m getting homekit thing. i’ve got 1 smart plug on christmas tree , bunch of smart bulbs lights. , i’m thinking in summer, smart plugs window air conditioning units, can turn on ac shortly before come home. (i’m not going techie , try thermostat heater— plus doubt landlord want that.) other ways guys use smart plugs?

1 thing i’ve thought cool setting automation open garage door when home , shut when leave. cutting on/off power garage door opener wouldn’t that.
 

turning off heater in son’s room in morning, in case forget when taking him school in morning.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
