CES 2018: August Announces Expansion of In-Home Delivery Service 'August Access'

today @ ces, smart lock maker august announced expansion of in-home delivery service "august access," roll out in partnership delivery company deliv. similar amazon key, customers use august's service grant deliv drivers one-time access home packages aren't left outside (via techcrunch).

august's service expand upon previous august access platform opening interested online retailer, allowing users order products these stores , select august access in-home delivery option. long customers have smart locks august, emtek, or yale, august generate one-time password deliv driver enters, drops off package inside, , closes door on way out (which re-locks automatically).

besides august locks, emtek , yale brands supporting august access each company under assa abloy umbrella, following acquisition of august last year. service tested walmart in september, allowing delivery people put away groceries in customers' refrigerators when needed.

amazon key works in same way august access, allowing prime members in 37 cities across united states order "tens of millions of items" on amazon.com , have them delivered securely inside home. august ceo jason johnson said august access provides more "choice , flexibility" since it's not available products on amazon supported retailer decides platform.
