iPhone X and running armband


i've run years different iphones , armband. during run change audio sources couple of times (siriusxm, podcast, music, etc.). can switch siri, "you need unlock iphone first" necessitates craning next type passcode. case has touchid cutout need use passcode because touchid won't read sweaty fingers.

my question this: how iphone x fall passcode entry? have let faceid fail few times first, or there "enter passcode" option on wake screen? faceid won't work when it's in armband, wait x arrive i'm wondering how running routine have adjusted.
 

unlike touchid let try 3 times, faceid gives me 1 try. can't take face out of camera's line of sight , try again. stays @ lock screen.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
