Please help me find the NAS solution I need


dear forum,

new world of networking-solutions... therefore need help.

nas solution allows for:
-automatic backups of wordpress site
-backups of multiple macbooks
-access itunes-library via internet place (is possible?) macbook has not enough storage , refuse live dongle-life. nice not worry backing beloved music library time.
-ideally option swapping hd
-mirroring of stored data (raid?)

looking forward hear suggestions. kind regards
 

- automatic backups of wordpress site based on script running on web and/or database server(s). host site in-house? otherwise need open hole sftp or scp nas in firewall.
- backups of macbooks: think linux based nas boxes able support feature.
- access itunes library on internet: don't think work, afaik. you'd have use other playback mechanism access files. presenting internet opens can of worms. not it's impossible, you'll have think bit you're doing.
- swapping hd in nas can done in real-time, if run mirroring or parity-based storage schema (the common being raid1, raid10, raid5 , raid6). make sure know you're doing if pulling several drives @ once...
note raid , backup 2 separate things. raid make sure mistakes evenly spread across drives , highly available. :)

OWC Envoy Pro SSD Enclosure - Alternatives?
