APFS: A couple of questions....


with hs on macbook's internal ssd apfs file system , you've created backup clone external hdd using carbon copy cloner, strategy happens when boot backup? hfs+ version of hs or apfs version?

other question regards apfs , filevault. enable filevault in order encrypt hs apfs disk, assuming filevault not enabled before upgrading hs, or apfs default encrypt files?
 

if backup of apfs container, is, not change hfs+ booting or restoring it.

have encrypt filevault if haven't done so. encryption not natively on apfs. there few different methods of encryption read on supported apfs.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
