Apple TV on 11.2 doesn‘t switch formats


lg oled tv connected apple tv 4k on newest firmware. selected option automatically switch source format (hdr/sdr) , frame rate nothing happens. 4k dolby vision "preselected" atv never switches sdr when watch sdr content...

???
 

i have lg oled also

tv announces when goes hdr or dolby, not sdr

while you're watching something, shake lg tv remote till cursor pops up, click on screen, "hdmi #" should appear in upper left, click on cursor, , should see 2160p , indicator of kind of hdr it's getting, sdr have nothing there.

try putting atv in 4k sdr, , playing that's dolby/hdr.
do, since 95% or more of content sdr, way doesn't have change much, since tv blinks out bit when changes.

Other Unknown error

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fin...
