APFS vs HFS and best practice for multiple systems with 10.13?


i installed 10.13 on partition on system ssd on macbook pro. have 2 partitions switch between solid stable 10.6.8 system , whatever new attempt @ osx comes out.

realize ended forcing 10.13 install hfs formatted volume. apparently can sort of run way not recommended?

have in fact seen 2 issues far. once waking sleep didn't turn screen on. see string of complaints random occurrences of online. possibly new bug , not related? updating 10.13.1 10.13.2 left system in state internet connection no longer possible (through app store or browser app). allrighty then... roll 10.13.1.

right. best practice run dueling systems on single ssd when 1 needs hfs+ , can't use new format , other isn't supposed run on old format? if there's compromise made, there flag set in 10.13 make behave hfs?

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
