10.3.1 Installer - hanging and Kernel panics


now 10.3.1 came out, thought i'd give go. downloaded 10.3.1 installer wouldn't have deal 10.3.0.

installed, restarting several times during process. restarted again, , gave me several kernel panics in row. seems hang @ 90%. terrific.

13" mbp 2016 w/ tb.

ironically, first time i've ever had installation problems since 10.0, , it's first time i've waited .1...

edit: trying restore time machine. it's been stuck erasing disk 20 minutes. says "erasing "(null)"

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
