iMac 27 - Which Model to buy?

hi everyone,

begin hope ok me post thread this.

considering imac purchase , have read lot in forum other threads , still quite indecisive. leaning towards imac 27, i5 3.8ghz, ram 8gb, 2tb fusion , 580 amd , add ram after. seems many of suggesting go ssd instead of fusion still not 100% convinced price makes worth go ssd. use computer work (some quite heavy excel documents), bit of gaming , everyday use.

however, found used imac 27 (late 2015) i7, 4.0ghz, ram 16gb, 256 gb ssd, 4gb amd m395x same price.

think? appreciate feedback can get!

 

i’m buying 27”imac... i’ve been thinking same you.
first of all: past gen. imacs relatively expensive, believe. keep searching in “refurbished” section @ apple, , discount far inferior machine compared “new” 2017 imacs @ same price.
so, wouldn’t used 1 found. say, same price have better gpu (with 8gb ram), better screen (and that’s important in 27”) , new ports conexions... , low i5 instead i7; you’ll same performance tipical use. example, in games cpu difference imperceptible, you’ll notice gpu difference!
ssd or fusion... won’t give opinion here, there (or more) threads it’s being endlessly discussed (and gave opinion there).
