know there other threads , articles around internet egpus honest i've never found straight answer i'm looking for.

i've got 2016 15" mbp lg ultrafine 5k , use lg 4k screen.

i've started try , edit 4k video in final cut pro x , find quite slow @ times, once have used noise reduction low light shots. had hoped machine need i've started think need more oomph.

egpu answer? , if so, best solution fcp x? don't particularly want shell out imac pro when comes out! want makes whole experience less painful - don't mind waiting renders etc want smooth when editing.

no idea if processes gpu or cpu-intensive. if go egpu, i'd go apple supporting in dev kit. sonnet epgu box , amd 580 8gb graphics card.
