Repair 2016 Macbook pro or buy a iMac

wanted pick peoples brains on should 2016 macbook pro had recent water damage. took apple store see repair cost , quoted me 1475 plus tax send off , have entire new computer replaced/refurbished. specs on computer got in 2016 are:

15 inch macbook pro touchbar
2.7ghz quad-core intel core i7 processor, turbo boost 3.6ghz
• 16gb 2133mhz memory
• radeon pro 460 4gb memory
• 1tb pcie-based ssd

again quoted me 1475 plus tax have repaired. offer 90 day hardware warranty on otherwise thats it. data lost either way on (although have data backed minus few months)

other option scrap getting repaired , buy new mac. have come situation don't need laptop anymore because have work laptop can use portability when need to. thought buying 27 inch imac. pricing out

the total cost of computer 1879 plus tax. benefit of have warranty on brand new computer , not 90 day warranty on refurbished computer apple. thoughts on else would appreciated.

 

get imac. since no longer need laptop, enjoy big screen of imac. 2011 imac still running strong , investment.
