do have high sierra installer downloaded already?

if so, i'd suggest this:
- usb flashdrive 16gb or larger.
- download 1 of following free apps: "boot buddy", "diskmaker x", "install disk creator".
- use app create bootable usb flashdrive version of installer.
- boot usb installer, , try things way.
