Importing video from a camcorder


hi

i've bought 2017 macbook pro , transfer video tapes recorded in canon mv600i dv camcorder onto computer can edit in imovie.

need plug cable dv connector on camcorder , computer.

cheapest cable options (from apple or amazon uk) reliably ?

imovie import using such connection method ?

seem remember controlling camcorder pc when tried this. how work in imovie ?

 

imovie should work.

kind of output have on camcorder?
firewire or usb?

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fin...
