i have macbook pro (mid 2012). upgraded 500gb sata hard drive 1t sata hard drive, , 4 gb ram 8 gb ram. mac os 10.12.6
@ first seems run ok, not lot of improvement little better. after couple weeks (used maybe twice), running extremely slow.
have done:
smc/pram resets
full system check - no errors
malware scan - no threats
closed applications in activity monitor
unchecked start apps
checked system information , hard drive verified - both ram ok
i'm not sure else do, or problem is. appreciated, thanks.

could faulty hard drive cable not uncommon on mbps.
personally, recommend replacing 1 tb ssd. use dvd caddy connect 1 tb or 500 gb optical sata connection.
