Any guesses as to when MacBooks will have i7?


i've noticed other developers getting macbook coding. travel backpack in asia while visiting company offices , imo macbook pro heavy when have other things carry. if i'd use ipad pro coding unfortunately in 2017 that's not possible if need use xcode 24/7.

though macbook capable i'm still worried slower performance of i5 when using xcode + simulator etc. if it's new i7 macbooks released within few months i'd consider waiting.

guesses based on chip manufacturers , apple history?

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
