High End iMac vs Low End iMac Pro


hi,

have dilemma. going pull trigger on standard imac (a high-end configuration) with:
- 4.2ghz quad-core 7th-generation intel core i7 processor, turbo boost 4.5ghz
- 32gb 2400mhz ddr4
- 1tb ssd
- radeon pro 580 8gb video memory

runs $3700. started think imac pro base config $1300 more.

plan own machine @ least 4 years. think upgrading imac pro. 1 of biggest pluses needs imac pro having modern graphics card.

think? if spending $3700 imac bite bullet , spend $1300 pro?
 

depends - use performance here , now? cause if it's "future-proofing", no. take money save not getting pro, , set aside next time need buy new imac. continuous evolution of hardware, you'll more money way.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
