Macbook Pro 2017 (w/TB) + Samsung u28d590d


hi all,

got macbook pro (2017) touchbar (model identifier: macbookpro14,3). i've had samsung screen while (u28d590d) - 4k screen. i've purchased usb-c digital av multiport adapter.

1)i've set screens mirror'd temporarily weird screen flicker if don't.
2)i expecting when shut lid down (i have keyboard , mouse via usb) display main screen mac hangs/goes sleep (either green flicker on samsung screen or frozen screen).


can comment or confirm behaviour on 1) , 2) above cannot setup play ball currently.

info appreciated.

although shouldn't cause mac freeze, using usb-c digital av adapter limit 4k @30hz. should use usb-c hdmi 2.0 cable or adapter. adapter have hdmi 1.4.

might issue monitor not being happy 1.4 input it's receiving.

Other Unknown error

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fin...
