Moving from Spotify to Apple Music

i had been spotify premium customer several years. had been waiting app aw prior aw 3, had phone me lack of spotify aw app not big problem.

on past many months, many people in forums have asked. response “not @ time”. there no indication of kind of intent. thought apple preventing them issuing app, me did not seem likely. remember trouble microsoft got when bundled browser. did not prevent other browsers being used, made inconvenient change default browsers. if apple had prevented spotify fielding app, have been more egregious. , if case, spotify have made attempt , legal dispute public.

me, logical conclusion spotify has not been interested in aw app.

although have been long-time user of multiple apple products, did not jump apple music because apple. there reason , want explain process used , opinion.

signed 3 month trial subscription apple music , moved playlists spotify apple music using iphone app, songshift. free version move 100 songs per playlist. process went smoothly. there few songs did not move, songshift identified them. in cases, browsed in itunes , found songs , put them in playlist. don’t know why few songs did not transfer automatically. might have been specific release in spotify not in apple music, or possibly there different spelling or abbreviation in title or artist or album. in event wasn’t big deal.

works fine in iphone , aw. other way used spotify play songs macbook home sound system wirelessly using gramofon device. find nothing indicated gramofon configured work itunes got airport express, , works great.

subjective prefer itunes , iphone interfaces on spotify. there laid out more room , easier see distance.

have cancelled spotify premium , annual apple music plan when trial period up. paid way, apple music cheaper spotify.

way, participated in spotify community forums , involved in questioning lack of spotify aw app. ok until posted above , promptly deleted. maybe should have posted questions , not actions, whatever. did had nothing against spotify, interests , mine diverged took action.

anyway, hope useful, , don’t expect deleted here. lol

 

apple music blows away spotify sound quality. spotify drains phone battery crazy streaming live music when on demand.

main issue though lack of support except airplay, no chromecast, echo support or web player , no useless remove drm solutions online keep getting when doing simple google search should removed. illegal.
