Anybody HighSierra on a 2009 iMac?


i resurrected old 27" 2009 imac, hard drive failed , glad spend money , have small (500gb) ssd installed, machine quite ok quad i7 , 8gb, space never enough find way overcome it.

came off of apple repair sierra installed, use store , edit photographs (not pro photography) , browse web, application adobe lightroom plays nice enough actual configuration , questioning myself if upgrade highsierra benefits on such old machine , needs (photo storage , edit).

one of main benefits running latest os security updates longer. far feature benefits, list of added features can found here:

new os, there maybe more bugs dealing now. far speed, should expect same performance have now.

Other Unknown error

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fin...
