App to log CPU core usage over time?


i have 15" macbook pro quad core , want smaller laptop sake of portability. i'm connected external monitor.

crux smaller laptops dual core opposed quad core have @ moment. i'm looking app track multi core usage on time, week or so. want see if use cores in day day activities or if wasted on me
 

i doubt see much. more or less modern macos app automatically spread work on multiple cores, os itself. more interesting question whether total utilization of current cpu goes beyond dual-core can offer, , non-trivial thing analyze n such general scenario.

com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930878

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
