It would be nice to have more Face ID scans.

if apple added more facial scans, perhaps alleviate of (and other’s) issues face id.

2+ weeks in, face id delay still biggest problem x. time , again i’m sat waiting ios or apps let me in. banking apps biggest culprit.

touch id, during unlock process, looking @ else, @ on computer, or @ i’m talking to, or i’m walking. face id i’m slave phone. sure it’s second or two, adds up. on course of year, spending 4 seconds day waiting various apps or ios recognize me amounts half hour of wasted time staring idly @ phone.

sadly, i’ve come realize 1 of biggest drawbacks face id never solved; phone has have line of sight face, , far limited perpendicular angle. touch id unlock phone as removing pocket, feeling button. time got phone facing you, unlocked. no matter apple speed face id, never recover lost efficiency.

said, think if can use scans build more complete picture, relax seems narrow field of recognition.

if had side profiles, left , right, , scan under chin, or above, digitally stitch these wider , taller map of face, , might not have have face directly square phone unlock it.

have optional sets of scans taken @ different arm lengths. many times i’ve had readjust entire body open phone. relaxing @ home feet , phone resting on stomach allows me unlock. have either tip head , hover phone on face, or sit straight , raise arm.

shouldn’t this. phone should adapt me. shouldn’t have adapt phone. @ least not much.

, i’ve said before, option set time differential between unlocking requirements helpful. it’s ridiculous have run scan every single time want use phone. if i’m @ work 8 hours, should able schedule less stringent unlock schedule. , should able decide if unlocked phone x minutes ago, don’t need scan again.

have faith apple continue make face id more sophisticated. ideas above part of process.
