iPhone X Unable to search in Settings on 11.2.1 on iPhone X


hello all,

having issue searching within settings on ios 11.2.1 on iphone x set icloud backup of iphone 8 on 11.2.1.

has gone fine backup/restore exception of being able search within settings app... minor gripe in grand scheme of things bottom of since searching in there.

search results showing in settings app apps installed app store. example, can search "onenote" , show in settings if search "brightness," "facetime" , such don't results.

ideas? hate have wipe , start over. in contrast ipad, shows every settings search result twice on 11.2.1.

ideas appreciated... thing apple support come start on 2nd time in 6 hours.

did check settings>siri , search>settings?

here's odd one! 1 of our 2015 macbook air notebooks in office crashed , became unbootable after user clicked high sierra upgrade sierra on it. tried sorts of things working again, including both internet recovery , regular recovery. each time, partially install high sierra , stop error saying, "macos not installed on computer", followed specific error code mentioned in message subject line. have identically configured air (8gb ram, 512gb ssd, core i7) upgraded sierra high sierra without problems @ all, should work! thing able problem machine installing sierra usb thumb drive. did that, of user's data accessible again (nothing lost, thankfully!) , working normally. tried running high sierra upgrade again fresh app store download, hoping original issue stupid user powering computer off in middle of upgrade process. nope! exact same error , resulting unbootable machine. computer passes apple hardware tests flying colors , seems fine
